With the AI for Net Zero team, I helped bring cutting-edge climate and energy research to New Scientist Live at the ExCeL Centre in London. Over the course of the event, we engaged with a diverse audience of all ages among the 20,000+ visitors, using hands-on demos and accessible explanations to communicate how machine learning and data assimilation can support the transition to net zero. It was a great opportunity to practise translating technical research into stories that resonate with the public, from curious schoolchildren to industry professionals.
